The Scents and Sounds of the Holidays
All throughout the world, Christians celebrate Christmas, the day that marks the birth of Jesus. Almost everyone, especially children, look forward to this season the most. This time of year, people usually celebrate by having a media noche (family feast), decorating houses with lots of colourful lighting, candles, pinecones and other decorative items, exchanging gifts, visiting their relatives, spending time with their loved ones and most importantly attending church.
I feel incredibly content and pleased because over the holiday break, I finally had time to do the things I wanted to do, like staying up all night watching a ton of shows and movies, hanging out with my friends, creating some art, and doing the things I love.
On Christmas Eve, we went to church. Afterward, my family and relatives enjoyed playing games. But I decided not to go with them, maybe lacking in social energy. After they finished playing games, my aunts, uncles, and grandparents gave my cousins and I a gift. We had dinner after exchanging gifts, and later we took pictures to preserve the moment.
Christmas is a season of joy and generosity. Covid is not a barrier to lose the essence of Christmas.
