The best out of the rest

The celebration of Mother's Day first started in the country of Greece, and now it is celebrated in every part of the world. Every mother is devoted to her child throughout her life. Measuring the depth of a mother's sacrifice is not possible for anyone nor can we repay the priceless favors and love of our mothers. It is our duty to take care of our mothers and to respect and love them. Mother's day is celebrated to make our mothers feel special and shower all our love on her. Though it is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, every year, yet, we should celebrate every day as Mother's Day to make our mothers feel special.

People typically give their mothers flowers, cards, presents and
take their mothers for a day-out and spend quality time with their them on Mother's Day as a way to show of gratitude for loving and caring for them as they grew up. As for me who live in a household that isn’t affectionate I am ashamed knowing that I can't even express kind words to my mother or put her on my Instagram or Facebook story like others my age can.

When I was younger, my mother did everything for me—she cooked for me, took care of me when I got sick, buys me food, and always pressed my uniform before I went to school. But like a typical teenage daughter, I started picking conflicts and arguing with her over everything. I'm not sure if she changed, or perhaps I'm the issue. After 7th grade, the corona virus started to spread, so we had to stay at home to protect ourselves. It was during this time that my mental health started to rapidly a downward spiral because that time there’s so many things happening inside my head. For the entire time, I believed that my mother had become frustrated with me and was clueless of what was happening in my confused thoughts. Though she would visit my room in the middle of the night just to check if I was still alive, she was there with me the entire time. I thought my mother had no idea what I was going through, I used to believe that my relationship with her would soon become nonexistent. Little did I realize, however, that she was simply testing me.

In conclusion, we should make every day as special as Mother’s Day to shower our love upon our mothers. We should acknowledge all the little things that our mothers do for us every day. No other gift can be more special to a mother than her children’s love and respect. So let us pledge to make every day special for our mothers and fill her days with warmth and joy.
